Eyelash extensions MAY NOT be suitable for clients that:
• Have very little natural eyelashes or have nothing. It's very difficult (if not impossible) to apply extensions because there's nowhere to apply them to
• Have pre-existing eye(lid) conditions such as chronic dry eye, blepharitis, conjunctivitis and ocular rosacea
• Have Trichotillomania (compulsive pulling or twisting hair, eyebrows and eyelashes)
• Have very sensitive eyes or possible allergies to adhesive (recommended to book an appointment for a patch test)
• In chlorinated water frequently (recommend wearing goggles to protect your lashes)
• Who are rough with their lashes
• Have difficulty following aftercare instructions or do not care to follow them
• Have extremely curly eyelashes. Recommended to get a lash lift before hand to help straighten your lashes. This will help the lash extension lay properly on the natural lash
• Had blepharoplasty surgery (must wait a minimum of 1 year after your surgery)
Eyelash extensions can last up to 6 weeks if properly cared for. However they won't look full at 6 weeks. Lash extensions should last as long as your natural lash stays in before it sheds, this is anywhere from 50-90 days on average. Therefore, a fill is required to keep them looking full.
It's recommended to get a fill every 2 to 3 weeks. If you wait too long to get a fill, most of your lashes would have fallen off and that will require a full set. If you've lost 40% or more lashes, that will be considered as a full set. Other factors such as lifestyle (exercises daily, visits the sauna, hot yoga), skin type (oily skin), side or stomach sleeper, and constant touching or pulling of the lashes may cause the extensions to fall off sooner. You should budget for 2x a month visits.
Scientifically Nanomisters cure the lash glue with water droplets from the outside and humidity stays in the adhesive. When it slowly dries it causes a brittle glue bond especially the longer it dries out. Our unique lash retention system has 3 steps and our lash Bonder eliminates humidity from the adhesive surface and from inside, therefore creating a tighter bond and a much more flexible one. It also blocks glue fumes and adds elasticity to the adhesive bonding points. The added elasticity makes the lashes more flexible, less sensitive to touch and less prone to breaking or falling off because they are dryed out. Lash retention grows by up to 30% and your lashes are water-ready within 3 minutes of being applied. No more keeping your lashes dry for 24 hours after your appointment, ever again! When jaime GETS HER FILLS, SHE BRINGS HER 3 PART SYSTEM TO HER LASH ARTIST!
Yes, you can do all of the above. The lash extensions are waterproof and will only come off with your natural lash when it sheds on its own. Exercise may affect your lashes if you have oily skin. Salt water seems to dry out the glue bonds very quickly, so beach trips are not the best for retention, I like to fill right before and right after a beach trip.
Mascara will make the lash extensions look messy and clumpy. The brush in the mascara can potentially pull on your lashes and cause them to be damaged, loosened or removed. AVOID mascara unless it’s specifically formulated for lash extensions. If you are feeling the need to wear mascara, then:
You are required to use only extension safe mascara, which we have available for purchase for your convenience or we can give you a link to purchase your own elsewhere
You may need to consider a more volumious set of lashes, please express your wants and needs with Jaime so you can recommend and provide exactly the look you desire.
Based on the growth cycle of eyelashes, when applying lashes, lash stylist are trained to look for adult lashes to attach the individual synthetic lashes. Young (baby) lashes are left to allow them to fully develop and when it comes times to re-lash, we have new strong lashes to bond to.Lash extensions will not cause your natural eyelashes to fall out. Remember that your natural lashes have their own life cycle of falling and growing (full cycle is only 90 days)– like the hair found elsewhere on your body. It's hard to notice small lashes falling out, but when attached to a thicker, longer lash they become much more noticeable! Once the extensions are removed, your own eyes may appear smaller, your natural lashes, shorter and sparser because you've been accustomed to a full set of longer, thicker lashes.
Lash extensions are applied while you are lying down with your eyes closed on a comfortable spa bed in a serene setting. This usually takes about 2-3 hours for a full set of lashes, jaime has found that ethnic lashes take much longer than non ethnic lashes due to the enormous amount of lashes you naturally have , but also depends on the set of lashes you decide to get. Volumes take longer to apply because our volumes are made during your appointment and not beforehand or pre-bought. After prepping your lashes, your bottom lashes are protected with a gel eye pad, lash extensions are then applied with medical grade adhesive. It is a really relaxing, non-invasive treatment and most of our clients take the time to catch up on their beauty sleep!
If you've never had eyelash extensions before, we recommend booking an appointment 2 weeks prior to your event or vacation at the latest. This will allow you to become comfortable with the lash extensions, experiment with different type of lashes, learn proper lash care and ensure that there are no allergies to the products used. Then schedule a fill 1-3 days before your departure or function. Booking a month in advance would be the ideal situation.
We strongly recommend getting them removed by a professional. NEVER try to remove them yourselves by pulling or plucking the last extensions. This can cause your natural lashes to fall out prematurely and cause both breakage and permanent damage to the hair follicle.
